My car was raced in stock class on a 7 inch casler or M&H and it retained its 3.90 8.2 4 pinion posi for the two season stephens raced it without failure according to the original drivers. The slicks were pretty hard and pretty narrow so that stuff held up.

The pro stock car ran an 11.50 slick and had a Chevy C type 12 bolt w a center section made by Dana for Pontiac and 5.13 gears also made by Dana according to a 1972 article on the car the axles were summers brothers axles.

The engine was a engineering RAV w a developmental RAV intake and 660 center squirters that only a few racers got a hold
Of also mentioned in the article . It’s in my 69 now . The car couldn’t really compete w the factory backed hemi teams of the day but it was a match race favorite so there would be. A Pontiac for people to root for and they did well with it because of that . Arnie beswick had the same engine, intake manifold and carbs in his 68 pro stocker but changed to bigger carbs and offset spacers but you rarely hear anything about that car and pictures are even more rare of it. I have some pics of it somewhere but haven’t been able to find them lately Probably on an old computer or something. But there’s a “bee ON video” production (the story of pro stock I think it’s called ) w the Stephens pro stocker and there’s video of the RAV Pontiac pro stocker at an event they state that it was the only Pontiac pro stocker still running w Pontiac power so I m not sure if arnie ran his at all or not the pics o had were of the car w no engine in it and the engine on the stand .

The ram Air pan on this steohens pro stock engine was said to be “home made”
In the article, but doesn’t look very home made, the cuts are precision w no tool marks you’d expect on a home made set up, I still have it, and it’s identical to
One grumpy has on his car in some
Pics . Now grumpy and bill Eckstrom were friendly but idk if they copied each others pans or if someone supplied them to them it’s interesting that Pontiac was (allegedly) back dooring parts as was Chevy and everyone else to its racers they even had an aluminum block for the car but never got to race it. The article annoyed some people at GM and that was the end of Stephens racing program
