Jerry's first race car was a '53 Olds Holliday coupe with a Pontiac engine. Then a '57 Bonneville convert, then '58 and '59 Corvettes, both with Pontiac power.
I worked for Jerry the second time after he moved down the street to become service manager at the Chevy dealer. By that time he was racing a B/S (I believe) 454 '72 Corvette. He finished his career at Mills Chevy in East Moline IL.
Always a tough competitor and class act, Jerry would arrive at the track well prepared and dialed in. Being new to semi-pro racing I learned a lot from Jerry. - Bill W

His cars especially the orginal GTO were always one of my favorites. I like all kinds of cars not just Pontiacs (although they are my favorites) but I have lots of pics of straight axle vettes (especially love them w Pontiac power) my dad had a 56 d500-1 convertible he raced, then a Dart, then he had a street 69 mustang he still has , then a big block el Camino street car , uncles had vettes and GTOs so we grew up w all makes and usually whatever was fast. I’ve had a lot of cars because I had dealer plates for many years but I’ve been most faithful to 69 birds having had 21 of them now and have 3 currently.
Best car I’ve ever owned though . Tesla model X plaid. 1020 hp runs 10.10 after a 2 hr drive ti the track which it’ll drive me to. Damn car is amazing! If you don’t own a plaid RUN out to buy one . Car I’ve had most fun with is probably my 69 RAIV firebird Stephens car or my turbocharged 69 bird that clicks off 9s on pump gas off the foot brake w low boost.
But seriously go try a Tesla plaid UNREAL! And mines an X the S clicks of 9.19 STOCK off the showroom floor . And it’s. A family car that’s hard to beat . I feel like it’s the 421 SD, or RAIV of the day. So much damn fun to drive it because the torque is instant.
Don’t want to get off topic w this thread though. Happy to open another thread on that car if people want
