Mercury unlike Ford offered the 427 in the 1967 Comet line. Either the Cyclone (as pictured) or the 2 Dr. Sedan. Ford: Only the Fairlane XL500. 60 427 Comets were sold during the 1967 model year - a combination of 425HP R code (dual quads) and 410HP Q code (single quad). Ford didn't do much better: 72. The reason for the low production numbers: The cost of the 427 R code: $1200. Chrysler was charging $564 to put a Hemi in your 67 GTX. |
