As you know, GM started offering Front Disc Brakes on it's cars for the 1967 model year. Ford started 2 years earlier (1965) with limited availability on cars like the Mustang.

For some unknown reason Ford added FDB to the 1966 427 R code engine upgrade. FDB weigh more than drum brakes. This was the first time FDB would be available on a mid size Ford
