George Fluery...there's a name I haven't seen, or heard, in a long time. I took my M22 from my '70 454 Chevelle to him after it stripped all the gears off the cluster TWICE. I assumed the gears were weak from the original owner drag racing it when it happened the first time. I went to Iten Chev and bought ALL new gears and bearing kit and rebuilt it. A few weeks later, it did it again, both times drag racing at North Star Drag Strip. I took it to George and asked what I did wrong during the rebuild. He did some measurements and told me the case was irreparably stretched from launching and was junk. So there went the original M22 for that car to the scrap yard in about 1975. Found another used one on the MPLS Star Tribune want ads and was back on the street again.
