In 1967, if positraction was ordered in a little-used axle ratio, 12-bolt positraction axles were installed in vehicles that otherwise would have received a 10-bolt axle. This was done simply to reduce axle inventory at the factory. This practice only applies to 1967 Camaro, but included all models, even 6-cylinders.
