You may be using too much detergent, which can negatively affect the washing process. The experts at Tide explain that creating too many suds in a wash cycle prevents clothes from rubbing against one another, which is what helps clothing get clean. Not only that, but excess suds can also prevent your machine from rinsing properly, allowing odors or impurities to redeposit back onto your clothes.
