Likely smart as the gen 6 Z/28 would have been close to $100K at the dealer all said all done, and the LT3 would have been a killer engine- but the article is correct because when that engine was killed then all of the rest of the Z/28 planned equipment was rolled out for the ZL1.
It is funny in a way because everybody with a pulse knew that when the ZL1/1LE first came out the Z/28 was effectively dead.
