Neat car, wish it was still green. While 3.89 gears and a 4 speed probably made this entertaining, these '68 GT350's are the least inspiring Shelbys of the sixties. They just had the Ford J code 302, and the early cars had to get fitted with aluminum intakes by the dealer afterwards, because they didn't get certified in time. Thus any unconverted cars are REALLY just J code 302s. They're not in the same league as hipo 289s, any more than 365hp 327's are with 250hp units. '69 GT350's weren't barnstormers either, but at least had the increased power and torque of the new 351W engines. Anyway, that's what makes '68 GT350's such good deals, and any power issues can be addressed with a readily available 347 stroker kit, a good modern cam, and some head porting (or aftermarket heads if you can make them look right).
