I have used Aluminum Naval Jelly made by Loctite i believe. This stuff cleans real well. If your trans case is apart, distributor, etc soak parts in very hot water first. Take a paint brush, brush jelly cleaner all around and scrub with brush, let sit on parts for 10-15 rinse off with hot water. I have cleaned factory Chevy Aluminum intakes with this stuff, comes out good.
