I did more research........LS industries USED TO mfg the "STAR" shaped media in its own Foundry but
no longer does.....They now sell another style of Aluminum media that is chopped/cut from alum round
rods into small pieces with sharp angled ends.
I am a believer that many parts should be shotblasted FIRST with a small sized steel shot....to better "clean"
THEN put thru Shaker/Tumbler to "Finish" the surface to the desired "LOOK"

Maybe the shaker/tumbler can do everything but would take much longer than going thru
shot blaster first......My amatuer conclusion.....
