Default Re: SS 396 Camaro my friend Hasse is working on

The NCRS documents show this SS 396 as being ordered by William Pape Inc, Huntington, New York. That would be the North side of Long Island.Dealer code is 208 in zone 27.Official production date is 03/31/1969 (12437N6229XX. Bodytag reveals: #291942, TR 712, 71 B, 03D and X66.
So as you can see it is not being restored back to the way it came from the factory. Hasse wants to personalize the car as if he had been able to order it himself back in 1969. With the NOS Yenko-block 427 in the car it will be a tribute to Yenko.
Early on we believed this to be an L-78 Camaro, for several reasons, but it is not. Hasse told me it was factory equipped with A/C, so therefore we can now rule out the solid lifter.

The ZL-1 engine that was put in the car after the bodywork was completed, was pulled last year since we had doubts about the enginebuilder. He built a 400 for my 1971 Le Mans, but it was a disaster. The ZL-1, that was never started, will now be built again by my friend Nova-Anders. He accompanied Syclone-Robban when Mr. Syclone toured the USA some years ago with his world record AWD 8-second Syclone. Anders knows for sure how to put that beast together.
