Someone had replaced a few of the original wire type radiator hose clamps with modern band type at one time on my original paint/low hours survivor tractor. I bought some new repo wire clamps but they stuck out like the proverbial sore thumb with their shiny zinc/ cadmium surface.
A little google time and some common household chemicals and 1/2 hr in the dunk bath= near exact patina to the original clamps.
The clamp on the left is the shiny repo, the other two clamps are new repos after 1/2 hour bath in combination of approx 60% vinegar, 20% hydrogen peroxide and 20% Coca Cola(which gives it the dark color.) I might put em in for another 10 minutes and see what it looks like. You can also experiment with the Coca Cola for color changes
If you leave them outside at night in the dew it will give them the right amount of rust if you need that because the hydrogen peroxide "pickles" the metal allowing easy and fast rust.
DISCLAIMER Be forewarned...when you put the pieces in the solution all hell breaks loose, it looks like fries going into the oil at McDees. and almost immediately a cloud of zinc/cadmium gases arise and hover around like dry ice-DO THIS OUTSIDE AND MOVE AWAY. The zinc/ and cadmium can poison you, make you really sick or even kill you.

After 5-10 minutes all the zinc and cad plating is gone and you can pull out your pieces and check out the progress.
Again, the pieces in the photo was 1/2 hr. That is not fumes coming off the solution-it was a corner of a paper towel
