Considering their evolving mission, I can't disagree. LEOs need to be able to defend themselves. Liberty and security is a very fine line though. There's a picture I saw not long ago that hit the nail on the head. It read, &quot;When did this (pic of Andy &amp; Barney Fife) turn into this? (Pic of SWAT all decked out). Answer was, &quot;When this (pic of simple cat burglar) turned into this (pic of, enter what you want here. Well financed drug gangs, foreign and domestic terrorists etc.)
