Default Re: Flathead Ford tractor

Not that everyone here is into tractors, but our town has an Antique Machinery show in August each year. There was a similar tractor as OP had pic. At the show. This tractor is a Funk conversion of which only 5 were made. This is the original and the difference is the oil pan is cast and an integral part of the tractor whereas newer kits, like the one in OP use the flatheads original oil pan and two beam rails, one on ea. side of engine. Enough of the lesson. A guy in our club is the "Charlie Lillard" of tractor collectors owning several rare IH tractors valued at $500k each. He owns this rare Funk V8
More astonishing was my 3 Y.O. Granddaughter, who appears to have my mechanical DNA. There was a tractor in the flea market area and a table of loose hand tools next to the tractor. She proceeded, uncoerced, to start working on the tractor with wrenches. I could have cried(I think I did). She was born with profound hearing loss in both ears, but has Bi-lateral Cochlear implants and now hears and talks perfectly. Amazing! I am thankful for this country's technology. Also thankful that owner of tractor was alright with her touching his tractor...I'll have to teach her that eventually. She is 3.
