Default Re: Dodge Hellcat Warning

More like the 1978 Indy Pace Car Corvette debacle.

The 1973 Superduty issue was due to the fact that the factory kept postponing and trying the cancel the option due to EPA involvement and the new found hatred of "high performance" in the new era of fuel economy. Fortunately for the enthusiasts, the engine guys had already built the components for the allotment of engines and Pontiac was forced to build the cars or scrap all the engines. These delays pissed off the dealers so much, to have their customers left hanging, that a lot of the orders were converted (without the customers approval) to the standard D-port 455 4bbl engine.

My car's original owner had to literally kick down the door of the Pontiac zone manager in New York City and threaten him, in order to get his SD order accepted and built... You just don't mess with a 6'8" tall, 300 pound linebacker when he tells you that he wants to buy a car and you are the man blocking the sale from proceeding! I would love to get a B5 blue Hellcat (late availablity color according to the website). If only my kids didn't need to go to college!
