Default Re: Sachs clutches

Hey Verne:

I run a sachs clutch and pp in my turbo Bimmer. The clutch and pp was made for the old M635CSi or an M5.

The factory boost was only 6 psi, but it is now modifed to run up to 15 psi. Unbelievable torque for such a small (3.5 liter) engine. Turbo cars have no extra power until boost comes in, so if I really want to "warm up" the 255's out back, I have to slip the clutch on purpose to get boost off the line. I don't do that on a regular basis, but have done it on occasion. Way more punishment than it should be able to take, but I have no issues at all.
BMW uses sachs parts from the factory, and I have never found one that was lacking in quality.
