When I was in the restoration parts business we had literally hundreds of used '69 shrouds; I always picked them in salvage yards. I never saw one with silver paint. Every NOS shroud had the chrome treatment; pebble or leather grain.
They were originally serviced by color and with or without woodgrain. The last one serviced by GMPD was black with woodgrain.
