I am betting you have yourself a 454 LS6 there, given the 1970 casting dates. There are only two COPO Novas - the 1968 L78 396/375 Automatics, and the 1970 LT-1 Corvette engine cars. That's it. No 454s or 427s factory installed in Novas.

Anything down by the oil filter area in regards to a VIN stamping?
