Cool stuff Gary!.
As you probably well know, Kettering designed a few NCR units before leaving and starting Delco including the first electric cash registers...most likely the design you have?.
Kettering and Durant are my favourite early automotive pioneers and I've read a few books on them both.. Kett was an amazing man and the creator of many things besides the electric starter...like freon, leaded gas and single telephone lines that carry multi calls at the same time plus the man who made the modern diesels really work...lots more too!.
Are the original wooden crates the NCR registers were shipped from the factory in worth much?.
A couple years back I asked a guy who bought an old store I used to go to what happened to the old NCR register I used to see there.. He told me he sold it quickly to a collector for some amount I forget but mentioned he'd recently found the original wooden shipping crate for it when cleaning out the basement.. He told me he'd save it for me if it hadn't gone to the dump yet...should I be calling him and following this up?.
