Default Re: More L-89 Nova Info

[ QUOTE ]
Hey Ken,
I was thinking the same thing about the late Oct.69 cancellation. The 1 of 1 Nova engine pad had a late Feb. build date stamped on it,Feb.22 or 26 if i remember. So that explains why there were 18 Chevelles built with the L89 heads, early production before going to the 454 block by Dec.1 of 69.I guess if you wanted the L89 heads bad enough you could still have the dealer install them from over the counter.

In the case of the L-89 engines in 1970, in October 1969 the L-89 396 option was canceled, not replaced. "Fran Preve" (Plant Manager of Tonawanda)

So.........The Feb date stamp would be suspect according to the Tonawanda info as the L-89's were cancelled in Oct....Hummmm!!...........

I Agree........But.......#842's probably would have been a better choice .....unless they didn't know any better............Seems to be some Major Issues here....
