GTO was same as a Chevelle. They both used the same drum brake shoes as a Camaro. 9 1/2 x 2 1/2 front, 9 1/2 x 2 rear.

Found information that metallic brake shoes were available at least from 1961 on passenger cars. Those 280 brake shoes are 11x2 (same size as 228 brake shoes), which are used on the rear of 1959...

280 brake shoe should be 11 x 2, according to FMSI. 280 numbered shoes were commonly used on 60's and early 70's Chevy trucks, but the the same steel backer may work for other applications too.
