Thanks for the suggestion on Evaporust. Found some locally. I will post more pictures after cleaning.
The case turned out to be a F-4-J dated COPO case. Wish it was still a complete unit.

It might be worth a try, if you have someone local.

Also, I always heard the acid...

Re: 6K/8K Tach

Thank you.
Is this a Z only tach, or would it have also been used in the L78/L72 cars?

6K/8K Tach

Is this the correct tach for a late production Z28/L78/L72 car?
When was the change date from the 6K/7K tachs?
Thank you in advance for your replies.

The guy I bought it from welded that stub to it, for a door brace.
It should be easy to remove.
It is not the same as the swing away bracket like I had on my other one.
Also, here is a side view...

If you change your mind, I have a 2-bolt June dated standard bore "CE" 512 block and a set of 964 caps, bolts, and sending unit plug.
Also have that shifter nut, if you still need it.

Re: two bolt BB vs four bolt

I know of at least three builders who broach cut the caps and use a vibratory method to "seat" the caps to the blocks, prior to honing, so that is not a guarantee.
