Rex, they were probably for Grand Sport Corvette, Chaparral, or simply for development/experimentation. I guess Indy is another possibility since Smokey did try a "stock block" Chevy there.

I would rather have a 427 over a 454 any day of the week. For me personally, a 454 in a '69 Camaro over a 427 is not a plus.
