If you have done a lot of cranking, I have seen the starter get hot enough and, then, repeated cooling between intervals to cause the large nut on solenoid, where battery cable attaches, to loosen.

Educate me on FG Stinger Hood (1st gen)

I have an opportunity to get a stinger hood. In fact, know where 2 are. One underside pic (1st one) is of what I believe to be newer hood. All other pics are what I believe a real vintage piece....
