Re: NHRA numbers

In 1974, NHRA went to 'permanent' numbers for sportsman racers meaning a given racer would have the same number as long as he registered that number. Prior to 1974, the numbers for sportsman cars...

Re: 68 cuda/dart question

SSE was an early designation for the AHRA version of Pro Stock which they called Super Stock Eliminator. That started in 1969 which probably dates those photos. It was a 7#/cid heads-up class like...

Re: ZL-1 #65 racing history?

Kim, Do you mean that as far back as 1969 the #65 car was never raced as a ZL-1? I'm hoping to learn some details about that Cunningham car. It was raced around the NE Ohio area and NHRA meets in...

Re: SS ZL-1's Authentic vs Clone

I didn't know the Malcolm Durham car was a ZL-1. I'm guessing they used up the original engine running in the AHRA version of Pro/Stock in 1969? By 1970 it was running in SS/D at NHRA meets. Below is...

Re: SS ZL-1's Authentic vs Clone

Thank you, William. The pictures are super. As I recall those cars were very active and when they weren't running at larger events, they were often at Island Dragway in north Jersey.

Re: SS ZL-1's Authentic vs Clone

William, thank you very much, that's fantastic. Especially since the car survived and is still looking good. Do you know if Len Sabatine ran another '69 Camaro for Hauser Chevrolet also in 1970? It's...

Hello, my name's Mike and I've been a lurker here for a couple of months. Long enough to know that forum members here are an excellent source of straight info about ZL-1's.

I have an interest in...
