I got my car less engine and power steering pump. I'm just confused which style of pump. I have air conditioning / short water pump. I just want to know if I need to use the one with a reserve...

The P works up to 1967 early 68. Then they changed that to HI (CHEVY) code if it was a special order such as a 396SS they put the P in the third digit "HIP". The case and tail numbers where put...

Sorry abut the misinformation on the A B C codes, my over sight. Indeed they were not used until 1969. Use the input shaft for ID 2 groves =M20 1 grove = M21 no grove = M22. Just try to help out ....
