Re: minilite wheels

Ok Pantera,
I'll take a stab at this even though Corvettes are not my specialty and I haven't seen a current photo of your car. I've been a member of SVRA and HSR since 1989 however not very active...

Re: minilite wheels

Leigh
The two solid raised blank bosses on our 15"x 8" T/A Minilite are alternative locations for the valve stem. Since our new aluminum T/A wheel has been modeled after our vintage magnesium...

Re: minilite wheels

redvetracr-
No problem , it's a fair question given the cars I've worked on and restored for the last 15 years. My answer is long though.

Plain and simple: I chose the SVRA Group 10 class of...

Re: minilite wheels

redvetracr-
The car has been approved for SVRA Group 10. Drivetrain will be a dry sump 360, T-10 and Ford 9inch. We're taking the body back to how it raced at the Nurburgring 24h (no flares) but...

Re: minilite wheels

Jeff-
No luck yet on it's early history even though we've been at it for about 10 years now. The car that I thought it was has turned up. Even with the unknown early race history I made what I felt...

Re: minilite wheels

John,
The 8 spoke wheels in your photos are not Minilites. They are a copy made by Western Wheels that look somewhat like our Sport style wheel.

Re: Did Chevrolet offer Koni shocks for road racing?

During restorations of vintage road racers I've found some of the older Konis to be dated. Month and year such as 6-67 and stamped towards the bottom. Both on the single adjustable and double...

Re: Trans Am Racers

History vs no history: Here's one more. Another 69 Kar Kraft built Mustang. This one is their development "mule". Raced a short time here in the USA in SCCA A/sedan, no T/A. Ships to England in late...

Re: Trans Am Racers

redvetracr: The KK Boss I mentioned earlier raced one Grand Am race (Talladega) and not an infield road race course event. All the other races were non-Grand Am short tracks, no road race circuits....

Re: Trans Am Racers

As promised, a Camaro subject from me. Another example of exceptions made for significant cars but without T/A race history. An un-built, unfinished and not needed backup Camaro sat in the Penske...

Re: Trans Am Racers

Trans-Am Racers: I missed out on the earlier chat about cars with race history vs no race history. Yes, the Historic Trans Am group are strict about previous race history and in the old days of SVRA...

Re: Trans Am Racers

The 15"x 8" Trans-Am wheel is the only Minilite I tend to keep in stock. I usually have at least one set in 4.75" bolt pattern and 4.50" backspace for Camaros. Matt, as far as your T/A car, all I...

Re: Trans Am Racers

Minilite wheels started production in 1962. Magnesium only at first and cast aluminum in about 1974 with their Sport wheel. Now we offer the look of the vintage magnesium wheel but in aluminum. Our...

Re: Trans Am Racers
