E-70-15 Goodyear widetreads
 

What tire pressure are you guys running in your Wide Tread GT tires? They call for 34 pounds maximum air pressure. I am running 28 psi and they seem to run hard on the road.

I have 32 psi in mine and seem to ride okay for what they are

i will try that psi. i guess they are not going to ride like radials

I run 32 psi (cold) in my Coker F70x14 redlines and they ride as good as can be expected for what they are.

'67 396 Camaro with drum brakes and belted tires = a different kind of driving experience! I am always ready to wave politely at other motirists when my Camaro hunts around on the freeway. They think I am swerving at them or changing lanes into them but I just wave, smile, and shrug my shoulders.

I actually get some enjoyment from these tires. They require some real 'driving' as opposed to the newer vehicles we meet everyday. You know the ones; where the lifeform behind the wheel has a cell phone in one ear, an MP3 player in the other, text messaging someone else, chatting with four other lifeforms in the vehicle, checking their 'Look' in the mirror (and not just females!) and generally ignoring everything around them! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/mad.gif

Yea... you can't multi task while driving a car that takes multi-tasking to drive... shifting, man-handling the steering, and then finally jerking the wheel out of your hands when it "finds a groove" in the road. Oh how I do love these cars...

I agree with you, but Bill has a point as well. In the Seattle area we have very poor freeways with distinctive tire grooves in the lanes. I'm told it's because our highway dept uses a low performance spec to save money. Whatever the cause, you can nearly be pitched into another lane through no fault of your own; you "must" keep both hands on the wheel and be ready to make instant corrections. It's not a lot of fun.

When I had the pleasure of driving DarrenX33's Z/28 on bias plies around Northern Illinois, I had no such problems as the roads are well-maintained compared to here.
