I start out with medium grit glass bead in my cabinet because it last a little longer than the fine grit. Mark

Thanks for the response.

Are glass beads good for heavy rust removal? I am using coal slag and it works great but I am concerned about breathing in the dust. Does anyone use coal slag (Black Blast) and should I be overly concerned about the dust?

Aluminum Oxide works good on rust and scale, comes in different grits.
It does upset the metal slightly.

plastic media does fine job at cleaning part without harming the finish, will remove light surface oxidation. Glass grit will do a nice job to remove RUST.
