Replating Chrome Parts Bumpers Etc.

Anybody got a good source for chrome plating? In the Southeast preferably? I have front/rear 69 Camaro bumpers in great shape other than very slight scratches and some very minor rust.No dents or bent tweaks. Also, looking to get the original outside door handles rechromed. Any sources and costs? I know condition plays a role in cost. I would consider the stuff I have as driver/local car show quality. Nothing fits like the factory stuff. Thanks for your input.

I used Tri-City Plating in Elizabethton, TN (Near Johnson City) They specialize in classic bumpers, and will even straighten out minor twists and dents. They like to exchange bumpers, but if you want yours back, they will do it for a little more money. You end up with your name ground into the back side though--at least I did. I think it cost me an extra $20-25. I don't have their number with me, but you can google them.

STAY AWAY from the Bumper Shop in L.A.,Calif. I learned the hard way......and ultimately my poorly plated parts were held hostage, unless I paid.

Jim Stubbing at Heartbeat City has perfect rechromed camaro door handles in stock. Don't have to take a chance on paying for yours getting done and not liking them. Alot of people do bumpers but the new repops that I can see are pretty nice for the money. They look to fit real good from the ones I saw. Big difference in cost. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

When I replated my rear bumper 5-6 years ago, the cost was only $30-40 higher than a repop from Rick's. Not sure about pricing today. I already had the repop, but Rick's took it back, no problem. Of course that was pre-Eckler's days.

I think you can get nice bumpers for $125 or so. I think rechrome originals are maybe $300 in that range. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
