Corvette Question...

Got a question for the Vette guys...
What is a 67 roadster 427 390 HP a/c car worth? Matching numbers 4spd PW, PS, bolt ons, Side exhaust, Red black stinger black int black top, one repaint.
Here is the auction link...

Re: Corvette Question...

Looks to me as though the current bid of 77K is right at where one would expect to see it sell for. That's about the price I have seen others being for sale at.

Re: Corvette Question...

Funny, weird or whatever how another 35(?)HP just about doubles the value of the 427 vettes.

Re: Corvette Question...

My guess is that part of the difference in value was that the additional "35" horsepower came with a "wink" from the boys at Chevrolet. Just my $0.02 (pre-tax, of course)

Re: Corvette Question...

Actually a real 390 ac roadster will bring alot more than 77K....and a 400 tripower air roadster will be about equal to the 435.... if you have one of these cars market it to the people in florida.

totally different animal... 2 bolt main in the 390 car, 4 bolt in the 435, no tri-power in the 390, hydraulic lifters in the 390 too, solid lifters in the 435. A nice performance car, but nothing like a 435!

Just to make it clear:

L36-390hp
2 bolt main 3904351 block
single 4 barrel

L68-400hp
4 bolt main 3904351 block
3 x 2 bbl carbs

otherwise they use the same cam, lifters, heads and exhaust manifolds

Re: Corvette Question...

No mention of paperwork. I would inspect the car and look for all the necessary big block signs. Owner states "not a restamp" and this is better than saying just a matching numbers car. The picture of the pad is certainly not good enough to make a determination on the stamp. A better shot would be helpful.

Re: Corvette Question...

I think the top bid of $83,100 was reasonable for this undocumented big block car. I don't think he'll do any better than that.
