This doesn't surprise me considering the economic straight of Ford, Chrysler, and GM. It reminds me of the old joke of how you pronounce the Daimler-Chrysler name? Answer: the Chrysler is silent!

Better competition, legacy costs, and a forgettable stretch of building mediocre cars. Things are getting better and I am hopeful for the future.

Where's the first place your young neighbors are most likley to go when shopping for a new car? The Chrysler, GM, or Ford dealer? Nope, Toyota and Honda. I think the UAW, seeing the writing on the wall, is pushing this merger because they would rather have an American employer than a Chinese, Japanese, or French owner.
