Re: Fan Position Question

well yes and no. i am repeating what i have heard. if you use small block frame mounts and small block engine mounts you are ok. if you use big block frame mounts and big block engine mounts your ok. but to muddy the waters the big block mounts seem to change somewhat during the 65-70 production years. i have both short and tall frame stands, but not sure what engine mounts are compatable? the safe bet is to use small block frame mount and engine mounts in my opinion, for oil pan/centerlink clearance specs. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif dennis

Re: Fan Position Question

I know for sure frame bracket height between BB and SB became an issue in 68 fullsize on continued in 69 and 70.
I donot recall having any height issues between BB and SB in 66 but we ran into different frame bracket widths. Most 65&66 BB were 2-3/4 wide and if I recall the small blocks were 2 1/2. Best to start by measuring the width of your existing frame brackets, hopefully it is the wide one to allow you to use the 67 BB locking mount.

Re: Fan Position Question

that sounds like good advice mac. i think the frames changed in 67 in the lower "k member".(if thats the right term?) i also remember something about the mount for power steering going back to the front
bolt on the the left mount? if you are going with p/s. so if you use a aftermarket one size fits all mount you may have a clearance problem. dennis https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Fan Position Question

Dennis......You have a good memory....... The Power Steering Bracket uses the top front motor mount bolt as a mounting point........
