Spiral shock dating

Who dates the repo sprial shocks? I thought Camaro Central did but I'm not for sure. Thanks

Camaro Specialties in NY. 716-652-7086

I read a thread about them selling dated repo spiral shocks on this site. It was full of weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth mostly over whether they were being represented as original or not. It made for great reading, so, I decided to buy a complete set from them. I am pleased with the set I received.

Regards,

Mark

Do you drive the car with them? I'd like to buy a set but I'm concerned about them being 'show only'. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Marlin,

I have not used them for any driving, so, can't comment one way or the other on durability. My opinion, although you didn't ask, is they would be a bit pricey for driving. For going down the road, I would think they would be substandard for sure.

Tommy,

I paid $609.95 which included shipping. For show purposes, I am very happy with the shocks as well as the stampings. The font seems to be very close. I would certainly defer to Brian Henderson on how well they would score in intense judging. All in all, it seems to me to be the best choice behind NOS or excellent condition originals.

Regards and Merry Christmas,

Mark

Not intending to hijack...

Have a set of the repo sprials, and they are a flat grey. The Details rattle can shock paint has a medium gloss.

Which is correct?

Medium gloss is more correct than the flat from what I have seen...
