If they're embossed, then its a killer deal.

They are not the embossed 1st design.

Not sure you know this but they are still available from GM. Check the prices at gmpartsdirect.com.

these are not reproduced as the GM Direct parts are. These are from a Chevrolet dealer that was closed in 1972.

Re: NOS 70 Camaro center caps

If these were purchased on or before 1972 they would be the first design embossed caps? Right? I thought the embossed caps were used from 1970 to 1973-1974 timeframe.

Chuck, are you out there, can you shed some light on this?

I bought the embossed ones in the mid 80's from my local Chevrolet dealer my brother still has a set for his 73 Z.

Re: NOS 70 Camaro center caps

I'm of the belief that the EMBOSSED (Rare) 1st design caps were used on all 70-74 Z-28's. I do not have enough original owner data to verify this however.
I am not sure when the FLAT 2nd design with same part number came out from G.M.
I also can not compare G.M.'s 2nd design to any other repop being mfg (????)

You are correct. If they are from 1972 they would be the raised style and be worth a lot more. The ones in question can still be bought today.

Re: NOS 70 Camaro center caps

The caps that came on the cars were the embossed/raised type. The parts that were sold over the counter were flat. I have the complete parts dept. from the dealership that was closed when the owner died in 1972. If it is a hassle I will just put them on ebay then everyone won't have to argue about it.
