It was a great show last year; lots of nice Camaros from 67-02 and it is very well organized.

Re: Michigan Camaro Club show this weekend
We are showing for the first time the freshly restored Berger Chevrolet/Dick Arons SS/E 427 1969 Camaro. Friday at 11AM the car will be shown at Dick Arons Racing Engines to Dick Arons, Gordy Foust, Wally Booth and many others that were part of this famous Camaro. It is the first time Dick has seen the car restored. The entire resto team is very excited for him to see it. We are also taking along 2 COPO Camaros and a 427 Dick Harrell Camaro..See you there!...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Cool. I was wondering when that car was going to get out of your shop. I bet they are going to go nuts when they see it. Send pics!!

Brian,
Do you have any pics from the show? How many cars in attendance? The had always pushed to be the largest all Camaro show (in excess of 200 Camaros the last time I attended). Rich |
Re: Michigan Camaro Club show this weekend
We got back from the show late Sunday. the car count was over 200 but unsure of the exact number. The judging for the show was really poor. We took the Arons/Berger SS/E superstocker and had it judged. The judges deducted for the car not having a spare tire and told us we would need that or tools. or something even a trailer spare to get the points! I saw other race style cars grabbing junk parts to get credit. I just told the judges I would not compromise the restortion for a few points. The car still won its class, but thats a major issue. The same judges told Fran Roberts that his COPO was excellent, but needed to clean up the overspray on the manifolds etc...Can you believe that one! There was a few very nice cars there, but very slim on original or restored 1st gen cars. We do not go to shows for trophys and some of the cars we took didn't even get judged, but I would say that we would not take cars there again...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif

Re: Michigan Camaro Club show this weekend
Brian,
Yes, this is becoming a bigger problem with our sport/hobby/profession. I`m sorry to hear your story and I understand your concern. Their are many judging criteria that I and others do not agree with. It must me difficult for these show promotors to find the "Best" specialty car judges? I wonder what there pay is, if any? Perhaps this is where the problem lays? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif Dan. |
