SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
I have tried to locate a post concerning this subject? none found!! So I ask a simple question? best way too clean, (wash) & polish original lenses? be it tail light, marker lights, etc? can it be done? if so?....feel free to help out in any way possible? I have 3 sets of lenses........all 3 are original 1 pair being nos in the box! (hate too waste good parts ) rather use the older ones! for a nice car not a concours! I would rather sell the NOS ones to a person in dire sraights! just thought someone had a "short cut" instead of wasting good "top $ parts" parts melting plastic etc.....https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Re: SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
K=I think Eastwodd sells a special buff wheel and compund for plastic...I think slow and careful would be the word here...also there was some stuff called Novus (I think) plastic polish which had a couple different steps that worked real good..it was in plastic bottles...I am almost positive I got it at Dennis Kirk for polishing helmet lenses...it was good stuff

Re: SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
Al, good old liquid soap and hot water and a tooth brush will do wonders then Maguires plastic polish on the outside surface for light scratches, works for me on driver stuff.

Re: SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
KLONECO......I have used a product called "Safe Cut" from "The Wax Shop". "Safe Cut" is a paint and plastic polish that works real well on old tail lens and dash gauge lens. I use it with a cotton cloth and made some old tired plastic lens look pretty good. The Wax Shop is in Bakerfield Ca and ph# 800-323-9192. I think you can get it at Pep Boys or NAPA locally.BTW, can you please fill out your damn profile?LOL, somebody made me ask you.

Re: SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
Use Meguiar's plastic polish on a power buffing wheel. Go slow gradually increasing the pressure if necessary and they will turn out perfect. Doing them by hand is a first good step but is not usually agressive enough if they are scratched or dull. Hold them firmly as you work them into the buffing wheel and keep lots of liquid on them. When done, polish by hand.

Re: SPIT SHINING NOS LENSES?
I will add one more, I use maguires #6 cut/polish wax on a buffer on stubborn stuff, works well, it has just enough cut in it to really polish well, i have brought back some really awful looking stuff that way as well.
