LS-6 correct date heads
My LS-6 chevelle is a late January 1970 built car,I'm gonna be getting heads for it.I need to establish what the correct dates should be for the heads; early January,December,November?

Re: LS-6 correct date heads
Go with the Tonawanda build date stamped on the engine pad. That is when the engine was a running unit, and heads should not exceed this date.
Figure 6 to 8 weeks max before it,as an average, not always so though. Nearest date you can find to your Tonawanda date, but not after, the better. |
Re: LS-6 correct date heads
Mr70,
Unfortunately, I don't have the original block for my car so I can't go by that. But 6-8 weeks back helps me though. Nice L-78 you got,it's the same exact colour as mine. |
