Advice please...
 

I have a hole in the door of my truck about the size of a 12 guage slug. I've heard a few ideas on how to repair it but I'm not feeling confident that any will work. I don't even want a ripple in the door when I'm finished if I can avoid it. Help?

Frank - I just came across that picture about two years ago, found it in the bottom of a dresser drawer. It was an L34 396 by the way.

Let me take a shot at it (no pun intended!)

1. weld in a patch panel
2. replace the door skin
3. replace the door
or
4. cut off the VIN, drive another truck under it, and re-rivet the VIN. [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

Seriously, if you are concerned about a patch panel, replace either the door skin or the entire door.
