The Novas used the 5 leaf rear springs with 'concealed' anti-squeak pad pockets. They are not too hard to find, but decent sets will cost around $200+ and then might still need to be re-arched. I understand that Ron Norman is selling very nice repros if you'd like to investigate that option. You will also need the non-F41 lower spring brackets, only the F41 version is currently available from GM. The F41's can be used, but you would have to hack or burn off the sway bar extension. |

Marlin; Thanks, I just got off the phone with Ron, he has given me a couple of ways to go. Should be able to help. I had already spoken with Wayne, he had the info, but no springs. Tom

Re: 1969 Nova rear leaf springs
I have the right hardware, off of the Yenko, just a couple of springs were very rusty. Since Rob plans on racing the car, I figured I better have good parts. Tom

Tom;
What were Ron's suggestions? I might need a set for my '69 SS project. |
Re: 1969 Nova rear leaf springs
Marlin, Ron is checking on a good used set. Also, he has had sets reproduced in the past, sold out, but may do another batch. I will keep you posted. Tom

Re: 1969 Nova rear leaf springs
I've used the repop springs from Ron N. they are very nice. Fit well, and have a good arch. Better than any others I've found. I like the coating that comes on them too. I think it is close to what was used on original cars including the frt sub frames. I hope they continue to produce them. I'm gonna need a couple of sets.

Re: 1969 Nova rear leaf springs
Clue me in on who Ron is please. Bodywork is almost done on my 70 and it will soon be time for paint and suspension.
