Joel Rosen and snakes?
 

Hi all....new to the board, but a longtime B-M fan. Used to drool over the ads in Cars mag and Oldham's "road tests" back in high school. Too long ago....
I've got a question....one of my hobbies for nearly 40 years is collecting and keeping snakes. For several years, there was a national directory of folks who keep, breed and sell snakes, and there was a Joel Rosen listed in there every year, from Baldwin, NY, listed as a keeper and breeder of boas and pythons. I always assumed that this was either the Joel Rosen from B-M, or maybe a son or other relative. Seemed too much a coincidence that there'd be another Joel Rosen in Baldwin.
Do any of you know anything about this? Is this indeed the Joel Rosen from Motion Performance?

Pretty sure Merty Schorr once ran a photo of a Cobra that Joel broke some drag records with before Marty started to work with him.

I was just looking through my Motion collection to sell off some duplicates and have a Motion post card of the copper color Cobra. I believe Motion raced two different Cobras one SB one BB but may not have owned the BB one.

I have a catalog here, Ford high performance guide and catalog, which covers Motion Phase III parts and accesories from the late sixties for Ford products with a opening forward page written and signed by Joel Rosen. That guy got around! Motown [img]/ubbthreads/images/icons/cool.gif[/img]

Joel and Judith Rosen did have snakes, fish, birds, dogs and other animals. He even owned a pet store at one time. (This info comes right from Joel)
