Question About a Stewart Warner Tach

I recently purchased a green line stewart warner tachometer with RPM read out in hundreds and my question is does this tach require a sending unit? There are two model numbers on the back of the tach, one is SW 466 and the other is 960AAQIO. There are places for four wires to hook up to the back of it. If it makes any difference it is going in a 67 Camaro SS 350. Any help on wiring it up or about the sending unit would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Question About a Stewart Warner Tach

Sounds like a 960 to me.No transmitter neded, this is a "solid state tach".Use one of the two posts with out the insulators for a neg,use the post on the left for coil, and the post on the right for 12v.There should be a seperate light hook up as well...I've yet to find one that was very accurate,a very lazy needle as well........
