Re: Correct coil for a COPO car

I have a Delco-Remy Application index for 67-70 Cars and trucks and the #1115238 is the coil used on all v-8 Chevrolets between 67-70. Now upon asking a Delco distributor about the "429" he stated that part could be in any box-can for Delco-Remy #D-512. Could that be a assembly line application for a COPO? We have to find someone who was at that station on the line to get the 100% foolproof answer. Also, the "238" is in a box marked D-512, and that could be a 429-425-424-431, and some others. Basically, if you see a unopened D-512 at a swap meet or what have you, it could be anything in the numbers above that are listed.........Joel

Correct coil for a COPO car

Does anyone know what the correct Delco Remy coil part # is for a 69 COPO Camaro with a standard ignition? I have always thought it was a #293, but have recently been told that it should be a #429-BR. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
