Who Has The Most original Unmolested 1969 ZL1Camaro ?
 

I know a lot of these cars were raced and had hard lives.Did any escape unscathed.Any Pics?

Ed Cunneen used to have a very original, unmolested ZL-1 that was at ChevyVetteFest about seven or eight years ago. Micky Hale, who restored my car, picked up several good tips from this car. At that time Ed had several of these cars and I can't remember which one it was. I know it wasn't his red one, which is now owned by Gary Holub.

#3 N608193 & #55 N641266 are unrestored, have paperwork and are mostly original paint. Neither has the original motor even though the #3 motor is around. The original owner still has #16 N609395, never been painted but has racing mods. Ed has #46 N618562, original paint and paperwork but non-original motor. #6 N608536 has tired original paint, paperwork and most of the original motor. A friend claims to have seen a Fathom Green auto ZL-1 being raced a few years back, original everything.

There could be others; 9 ZL-1s have no title history.

# 3 now has the engine for # 26 in it. The owner of # 26 has the engine for # 3 but is too Stupid to trade. At some point # 26 will go to a better owner and the engines will be reunited with their correct cars.

I bought that # 30 car from Tom a couple years ago. The new owner had it Restored again but took the orig. engine out and put a 600 plus hp engine in it with big exhaust and big sway bar and drives the Heck out of it I'm told. Odometer showed about 21 miles when I sold it.
