ID Muncie trans, please..Pontiac people ??
 

I have a "1325" Muncie I am going to sell with what appears to be a partial vin stamp and a very light stamping that may be the car assembly date ? The vin is J264103. I'm guessing it is a Janesville build and the 2 a Pontiac car ? Any guess as to which year/model car for a 1964-65 transmission ?
There is also a stamp near the side cover with what appears to be F0406...April 6th ?
OK, looking at that stamp enlarged, it appears it could be a P, so inline with Muncie date codes...

Looks to be a '64 with the rounded upper bolt boss. Janesville passenger car, Chevrolet. The 2 in the partial vin means they have produced more than 100,000 cars. The passenger side speedo started in late '65 model year though.

OK, anyone have production numbers for Janesville in '64-65 ?

That drain plug sure looks like the one in her 69 M22

I'm fairly certain the drain plug was added later. I'm not aware of any 1325 cases with that from the factory and the fact that it doesn't seat near as deep as the fill plug and with liberal amounts of blue rtv indicate a later addition. Someone has been in this trans but 3rd and fourth look a little rough for wear. No rings on the 10 spline input, quite certain it's an M20.

That's a 64 M20 from a Janesville fullsize car, probaly Impala. Partial vin fits in for a end of 3rd week April build

Can fantasize it was behind a 425/409... :laugh: Be like the people selling 1970 Chevelle parts...every part came from an LS6...:wink:

May want to pull that bottom plug and offer it for sale.

See them occasionally on epay and they are not cheap.

I will be removing it, but putting it in one of my 3 Muncies...:laugh:

LISLE magnetic drain plugs are not that rare,

Yours and hers are an exception to that.

No idea where else this exact one is used but it is common in the bottom hole of 1969 M22's.
