have 69 Z I just bought , going through various components --- the engine assy. date 10-24-69 cast date J229 --- it has a 003 distributor dated 9 G 18
seems early ? any input -- thank you

Yes that is correct for a late car i have a 11A 69 one of the last ones made has a 2003 dist what is the build date and beginning of the vin mine is 708

10/24 is the latest known Z/28 engine build date.

The 1112003 distributor was originally intended for the 1970 Z28, obsoleted. Small inventory consumed in 1969 Z/28 production starting early October.

No mention of the part number or substitution in any service information. Has RF shield.

The distributor was installed at the engine plant. Those 2003's only show up on the last DZ engines so they must have been one of the last distributor shipments to Flint.
