American TTop Brochure
4 Attachment(s)
I’ve never seen this brochure, these tops went in more than Pontiacs and chevys, also called the Texas T Top
Pic happens to be a Camaro. |
Those don't look too bad. I had Hurst Hatches on two cars back in the day, a 1976 Rally Sport Camaro and a 1978 Trans Am. I don't remember seeing too many cars with the Hurst Hatches back then, so no idea how I ended up owning two F bodies in a row and both of them having them. But, they both leaked like sieves in the rain and made the floors start to rot pretty early in their lives, unfortunately.
|
Early 78 they phased out the hurst Tops, I had a buddy with a Camaro w/ C&C tops. They were even bigger bigger t tops.
I’ve never see a bag with these tops, wonder if they had one. |
I had a 76 Cutlas Broughm with T-Tops. Right after I bought the car they were replaced by GM.

In ‘79 I “purchased” a ‘75 Hurst Cutlass W-30. It was the owner of the dealerships car he rarely drove, but it had hatch leaks. He insisted he’d fix it before I could take it. Being in Vermont the closest install center was in Canada. Little over a week later I got a call the driver bringing the car back hit a deer, car totaled…. I’m sure it would have still leaked.. Nicest car I never owned……
|
I think they all leak, my buddy’s ta w/C&C tops rattled super bad. But when you have the tops off it’s great.
Dan said the Camaro came with fisher bags, maybe American didn’t make their own bags. I have a magazine add from 1977 on the American tops, I’ll dig it out. What is the shifter in the Camaro, B&M. Dont think I’ve ever seen one. |
That shifter looks like a B&M Quicksilver.
|
Ahh ok.
