Radiator Tank Codes IA XI

Searching old threads on decoding and the only XI tank references I can find are from a 69 Chevelle with automatic cooler fittings. I have IA XI tanks in my 69 Chevelle manual with no fittings and am checking the application. VO1 heavy duty radiator by chance?

Thanks

Not sure this will help but a 02C Baltimore 69 Chevelle.
396 4spd.
Pic 2 is shroud number.

ADDING
Just looked on epay and you can buy a used- repaired shroud with this number for $1,499.99.
Says it is 1970 LS6 etc.
Looks to me it is 69 also.

BO coded radiators were the standard, used on all M/T 1969 & 1970 L-78 equipped chevelles.
It's the standard 5.2Qt.,3 row radiator for them, not the Heavy duty 4 row.
That std. radiator used a 4 row passenger side tank, but the drivers side IA tank was a 3 row, used on all M/T & Auto Trans Chevelles.
Both of these years/models also used the #165 fan shroud too.
When HD cooling~5.9Qt. was ordered on a BB 1969/70 L-78 Chevelle, the factory swapped out the Chevelles drivers IA tank for a wider 4 row tank turning it into either a PA~M/T or PD~A/T coded radiator. Also shaving down the extended fan shroud lip, both on the drivers side and bottom of the #165 shroud,to now accommodate the 4th row.

I was hoping that you would chime in. What was the XI used on?

The Xi tank is an Auto Trans 4 row passenger side tank.I have it in my '70 chevelle now,as well as in 2 other cars I own,all Chevrolet chevelles.
It was used on many A/T GM A-bodies,and Monte Carlo/Elcamino too.
Are you certain your Xi doesn't have two trans cooler lines plugged up?

You know, that might solve the mystery. They are certainly not plugged with a fitting but they could have been welded up and ground smooth during some prior radiator work. They did a good job if that’s what was done.

Agreed, mostly. :)
XI is an auto trans, but it was also used in 3-row, seeing that IA is a 3-row tank. Probable broadcast code is BJ.
