Private show Rockford IL 09-21-25

The 409 was invited to a friends private show today at their shop in Rockford. Very eclectic mix of cars from brass era stuff (the shop where this was held specialized in these at one time), to old nitro rail cars (they fired all of them up), to 60's muscle, some modern stuff and a Ferrari. They had an open house to show off their shop and what they are currently working on (hobbyists). One of the owners of the shop is into old neon signs and as old time businesses close around here he buys and restores the neon signs. The blue Nova is owned by the same guy and is an amazing original paint/interior/engine compartment survivor 350/3 speed. The Marmon inside that has the transaxle out of it is still toured regularly by its 88 year old owner - he broke it a few weeks ago on a local tour. The same guy drives his early 60's Pontiac convertible to Florida every fall........lots of cool stories.
I got caught in a pop up rain storm on the way home - ugh. As I was freaking out about driving in the rain I heard Dad saying to me "they are meant to be driven". He would have approved of getting caught in the rain. It didn't melt and I got to test the wipers  All cleaned up and ready for its next adventure. :3gears: |
What a Great Invite Show….Thanks for sharing
